Between a scorching stretch of heat in East Sussex and that spectacular partial eclipse earlier this week, the skies have certainly put on a show! 🌘✨
Now that we are gliding into the weekend, it is time to turn our attention back to what we do best: serving up delicious, freshly made homemade food at The Swan Inn, Falmer! 🍽️🍺
Kick things off the right way with Fish & Chips Friday—crispy, golden Palmers Beer Battered Haddock, served with proper chips, garden peas, a fresh lemon wedge, and rich homemade tartare sauce (£18.95). Ditch the kitchen tonight and let us pull you a ice-cold pint to match!

Our August Specials Menu is running all weekend alongside our pub classics. As always, our Southdowns Pantry team caters extensively for Gluten-Free (GF), Vegetarian, and Vegan (VG) requirements—just chat with our bar team when ordering! About Southdowns Pantry
From within the quaint spacious setting of the historic Swan Inn pub located in Falmer, East Sussex. The Southdowns Pantry is a local restaurant that uses fresh, seasonal ingredients (whenever possible) to create delicious homemade food. We offer a variety of gluten-free and vegetarian options, as well as Sunday lunch specials. With many years of experience within all aspects of the catering industry we are also able to provide event hosting and outside catering for those special occasions, parties and celebrations.
The Swan Inn is a fabulous spacious venue, nestled in the village of Falmer, East Sussex amidst the beautiful Southdowns National Park, it's full of 'old world' charm. The pub is loved by it's locals along with walkers and cyclists. Being close to the Amex Stadium (home to Brighton & Hove Albion FC - 'The Seagulls') the pub is also in high demand on game days.
